About Dr. Manning

Dr. Greg Manning consults and trains professionals and lay persons on a wide range of topics including coping with grief and loss, dealing with oppositional defiant behavior, engaging transitional age youth in the mental health system, seeking and maintaining permanency for youth in foster care, and developing and sustaining collaborative teams.

Dr. Manning holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Manning is a licensed clinical psychologist in state of California and a member of both the American Psychological Association and the California Psychological Association.  He consults and trains professionals of multiple specialties and lay persons regarding their work with children and families both in the community and within the foster care system. He provides professional training on a wide range of topics including coping with grief and loss, dealing with oppositional defiant behavior, engaging transitional age youth in the mental health system, seeking and maintaining permanency for youth in foster care, and developing and sustaining collaborative teams.

Dr. Manning has extensive experience working in government and non-profit community and mental health agencies. He has experience providing intensive case management services on behalf of youth in foster care and serving as the mental health liaison on a number of local and regional committees and task-forces. He has served as an individual, family and group therapist, group home therapist and manager, clinical supervisor and psychiatric disability insurance case manager. Dr. Manning also has experience in the area of developing and implementing innovative and community mental health programs.

He is a member of the Board of Directors for Youth In Mind – A California based non-profit agency that supports and inspires Youth leadership and advocacy within the Mental Health System. Dr. Manning also serves as an Adult Supporter for the California Youth Connection – Orange County Chapter – a Foster Youth Advocacy Group.

Dr. Manning is a faculty trainer for the Public Child Welfare Training Academy in Southern California and a faculty member at the University of Redlands - Graduate School of Education and Brandman University - Department of Psychology.

He has participated on a number of professional and conference panels as well as being a guest on the KOCE-TV show “Help Me Grow.”
