
Dealing with Oppositional Defiant Behavior
Course Goals and Objectives:
- Participants will increase their knowledge, awareness and understanding of Oppositional Defiant Behavior (ODB)
- Participants will improve their clinical skills related to working with youth and adults that display ODB
- Review DSM IV-TR diagnostic criteria related to ODB
- Identify the connection between cognitive, emotional and behavioral symptoms associated with ODB
- Review relevant research and evidence based practices related to the treatment of ODB
- Propose new approaches to be taken by the mental health staff, direct care staff and community members involved with youth and adults that display ODB
